Vejer de la Frontera is located at the top of a beautiful hill overlooking the river Barbate. The city prides itself on its historic legacy of earlier civilizations such as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans. In the company of the guide, you will take a guided tour of the most interesting points of the city, where you can admire the towers of the wall, the medieval doors, perfectly integrated in the city, as well as its Castle (11th- The highest part of the old town, which combines elements of Muslim and Christian architecture.
After visiting Vejer de la Frontera, the tour will continue to the ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia, located about 22 kilometers northwest of Tarifa from the road from Cadiz to Gibraltar. Located next to the beach of Bologna, considered one of the 5 most beautiful beaches in Spain, the archaeological site preserves the most representative elements of a typical Roman city.
The main attraction of Bologna Beach is its dune. With more than 30 meters of height and 200 meters of width, it is in an entrance inside the Natural Park of the Strait, where the Atlantic Ocean is with the Mediterranean Sea. From the Bolonia-Faro Camarinal trail, the views of the wide golden sandy beach, popular with surfers, is truly spectacular.
