The Córdoba city's inhabitants, - first the Romans and later the Moslems - adapted the typical design of the popular house to their needs, making the home centre around an inner courtyard (patio in Spanish) , normally with a fountain in the middle and filling the courtyard with plants to give the sensation of freshness.
Since 1921, the Town Hall has organised a competition of Courtyards and Crosses in the first week of May, and the owners decorate their houses with great care to try and win the prestigious award offered by the authorities. This Festival of the Courtyards of Córdoba has been declared by UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2012.
The Córdoba´s Courtyards guided tour gives you an overview of the culture of the patios. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will visit a selection of popular houses courtyards, winners of various prizes in the municipal contest, located in the neighborhood of San Basilio.

- In May, during the first two weeks, the Córdoba Courtyards Festival takes place. During these two weeks, guided tours of the courtyards will cost €12.00 per adult. Children's prices remain the same.

- The visit is not accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Free! cancellation up to 72 hours before the date of the activity with 100% refund / Less than 72 hours, late arrival or no show: no refund will be provided.

In case of reaching this date and the pending amount has not been paid, the reservation will be cancelled and the amount paid initially will be refunded. Please note that this payment method is applied to reservations whose departure date is more than 30 days from the reservation date. For reservations whose departure date is within the following 30 days, 100% of the amount will be charged at the time of booking.
