Enjoy an unforgettable experience with Avila & Segovia tour from Madrid. You will discover two Spanish cities rich in history and declared World Heritage Sites.
We will pick you up in the morning and depart from Madrid in a comfortable air-conditioned bus. The first stop of the excursion will be in Segovia, taking a guided tour where you can admire the famous Roman aqueduct 16 km long, magnificently preserved. We will visit the Gothic Cathedral, considered for its elegance "The Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals", the last of this style built in Spain and we will contemplate the Alcázar from the 12th century, a beautiful medieval fortress which inspired the design of Disney's fairytale castle.
Optionally, you can add to your visit the ticket to see the interior of the Segovia Cathedral with a local guide.
Then, you will have free time to have lunch and try the typical food of this region of Spain (tour with lunch included available). If you reserve the meal, the menu will consist of a starter, beans from the farm, roast suckling pig, punch cake (typical Segovian dessert) and a drink.
Leaving Segovia behind, we will head to Avila, a city that preserves the oldest and most complete walled area in Spain (XI century). You will take a tour of the outside of the Cathedral, the walls, the Major Square and the Romanesque Basilica of San Vicente.
Optionally, you can reserve access to the walls of Avila and take a pleasant walk along the heights while contemplating the beautiful views of the city.
Avila is the birthplace of the writer Santa Teresa de Jesus, representative of Spanish Catholic mysticism, so your visit will not lack a Teresian route that will take you It will take you through the Church of San Juan Bautista, San Juan de la Cruz square and the Convent of Ste. Therese.
In the final stretch of the Avila and Segovia tour, we will return to Madrid, arriving in the capital around 6:30 p.m.
