After a journey of approximately 2 hours from Madrid, we will arrive at the famous Enchanted City, located a few kilometers from the center of Cuenca, within the limits of the Serranía Natural Park of Cuenca .
Here we will take a walk, appreciating its fascinating landscape, in which strange rock formations predominate, which never cease to amaze visitors. Its beauty has even attracted the attention of many artists, making it a perfect setting for films, which have been stars such Sophia Loren, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Oliver Stone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Before go ahead to Cuenca, we will make a stop at the viewpoint of Ventano del Diablo, from where you can get the best panoramic views of the Enchanted City.
When you arrive in Cuenca, we will take a break to enjoy free time to have lunch on your own.
Then, we will visit the old town of Cuenca, visiting its picturesque streets, which houses important sites of historical and cultural interest. We will admirethe impressive Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián , the first Gothic cathedral of Castile.
Later, we will go to the Casas Colgadas (Hanging Houses), a group of buildings that constitute the best example of local popular architecture, recognized by their large balconies that stand out on the elevated cornice of the Huécar river sickle. There you will also find the Museum of Abstract Art , which exhibits paintings and sculptures by Spanish artists from the mid-twentieth century.
Finally, we will reach the San Pablo Bridge , which crosses the Huécar River offering an incredible view of the Hanging Houses.
