Itinerary
In the morning, you will depart from your hotel in Cáceres in the company of the guide to go to the Natural Park of Monfragüe, the first stop of the tour.
We will cross the National Park, declared in 2003 as a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco, to admire the beauty of its surroundings. We will stop at the most spectacular viewpoints, from where you can admire the impressive landscape formed by the Tagus River, together with the rich fauna that make it an exceptional place.
Leaving behind the Monfragüe Park, we will reach Plasencia, the beautiful capital of the Jerte Valley, where you will visit its historical complex, made up of the Plaza Mayor, the New and Old Cathedral, and the Convent of Santo Domingo, now Parador.
After enjoying free time for lunch in Plasencia, we will continue along the Jerte Valley until we reach Piornal, the highest town in Extremadura and descend to Garganta la Olla, a picturesque town full of legend.
Here you will visit the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste, where the emperor Charles V. spent his last days.
After Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste tour, we will begin the way back to Cáceres.
