It is impossible to describe in words the majesty of a city like Cordoba, through which Muslims, Jews and Christians have passed, leaving indelible traces of its art and culture. With this Cordoba day trip from Granada you will visit monumental places, such as the famous Mosque-Cathedral , the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Jewish Quarter, among many others.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Granada to leave for Cordoba, a city endowed with an impressive historical, artistic and cultural heritage.
Upon arrival, the first place we will visit will be the Mosque-Cathedral, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCOand known worldwide as the great jewel of Western Islamic art. Here you can admire the evolution of Umayyad art in Spain, as well as the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles in the Christian part.
Then, we will visit the Alcazar, which was the residence of the Roman governors and the Caliphs until 1328, when it became the home of the Spanish kings. Currently, the building is a historical monument, recognized as a Heritage of Cultural Interest and World Heritage.
We will continue the tour by walking the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter of Cordoba, a picturesque neighborhood where you can see the Synagogue(unique in Andalusia), the statue of Maimonides, the Sefarad House, the Almodóvar Gate, among other places. We will also walk along the charming “Calle de las Flores”, one of the most traditional places in the city.
After exploring all the corners of the Jewish Quarter, we will head towards the center of Cordoba, where you will have free time to stroll, enjoy the typical food or do some shopping.
Finally, we will embark on the way back to Granada. Both on the way back and forth, we will stop at a pleasant rest area for a refreshment or coffee.
