We will depart from Bilbao to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, whose name means “rock castle” in Basque language. Gaztelugatxe is a wonderful islet located on the coast of Biscay, a few kilometers from Bilbao. At the top of the island, there is a shrine dedicated to John the Baptist, built in the 10th century.
Upon arrival, we will have 2 hours to freely visit this unique natural space, where we will see some of the scenarios in which the successful series Game of Thrones was filmed. After touring the 241 steps that will lead us to the island, we will arrive at its sanctuary, where you should not forget to ring its bell three times to make a wish.
We will continue to Bermeo, a picturesque fishing village where we can take a relaxing walk.
Before returning to Bilbao, we will stop in Gernika. Did you know that this city is named after the iconic work of Pablo Picasso? We will visit its emblematic House of Juntas, a political and administrative building, declared a Property of Cultural Interest. Finally, we will return to Bilbao at 14.30 hours.
