The young Michelangelo sculpted the statue of David in three years, starting from a huge block of rough marble. The result was an absolutely beautiful, imposing sculpture, the real icon of the Renaissance ideal. He portrayed a magnificent nude young man in his full physical vigour, whose intense expression of force and courage, which stemmed from his absolute faith in God, was taken as a symbol of the power and invincibility of the Republic of Florence at the height of its splendour.
In the Gallery there is also an important collection of Florentine paintings ranging from the 16th to the 14th century.
After the guided tour you will have some free time to wander around on your own and some free time to have lunch (not included).

The second payment of the remaining amount must be made before the day of the activity, on the deadline indicated. In case of reaching this date and the pending amount has not been paid, the reservation will be cancelled and the amount paid initially will be refunded. Please note that this payment method is applied to reservations whose departure date is more than 30 days from the reservation date. For reservations whose departure date is within the following 30 days, 100% of the amount will be charged at the time of booking.
